November 15th Sacred Heart Social Committee

On November 15th, Sacred Heart is having a dinner to kick off a capital campaign. The Social committee has asked if we would be willing to have four Scouts (in full Class A uniform) to help greet people as they come to the doors and other tasks. We already have one volunteer, please let Mrs. Houtekier know if you can attend this. The Social committee has done a lot for us, as well as the Church, so we need to return the favor.

I wanted to remind everyone about September fest happening on Sunday. We are doing set up of history artifacts on Saturday evening at Culemans at 4pm. We will be meeting on Sunday at 9am to get everything else set up. The event is from noon to 3 on Sunday. The scouts will be helping throughout the event with different stations and preforming skits.  Please let Mrs. Houtekier know if you can help on Saturday evening. She has a great deal to get put out for Sunday and many hands make light work! Thank you to everyone!

Upcoming

Just a reminder that there is no meeting tomorrow, July 9th.
Family night and OA call out is this Wednesday evening. This is also our troop meeting for the week.
We will begin gathering at 5:30 with a group potluck beginning at 6. We will be joining with Troop 131 and Troop 144. This will be a fairly large gathering, but we will have a lot of fun visiting with the other troops. (traditionally, we have let the camping scouts eat first, followed by the camping leaders, since this will be their only opportunioty to not have to eat camp food). Please bring a dish to share, along with your dinner ware and beverages (non-alcoholic) Troop 109 will be supplying some chicken for dinner. Weather permitting we will be eating at the campsite (Warclub). If the weather forecast is unfavorable we will try and reserve a KIVA. You may also want to bring lawn chairs! We will have a short troop meeting at approximately 6:30 that should last less than a half an hour.
There should be some free time between dinner and Callout so that your scout can show you around camp.
Call out will begin sometime later that evening. Usually around  8:00. I encourage all of troop 109 to attend. We do have youth eligible to be called out. Following the ceremony, all visitors will leave camp which should be before 10pm.
See you there!

Starts At: 10:00 AM

Location
Sherrard Public Library

“I would like to invite you to come to the Sherrard Library to work on my Eagle Project. We will be doing some landscaping which includes planting plants, spreading river rock and setting edging pavers. Also, we will be pouring concrete and setting a base sleeve for a flag pole which will need to set for 24hrs before putting in the flag pole. Lunch, drinks and snacks will be provided. Please wear work clothes that can get dirty and bring work gloves if you have them. I am needing a wheel barrow, if someone has one I can borrow please let me know before Friday. Also, I need shovels, if you could bring one, that would help.”
“I plan on going back out to place the flag pole and have a flag ceremony and will need people to do that. I’m not sure when that will be but I will keep you informed when I hear back from the library”

Thanks,
Brenden
